MR ATABO DAVID OJOGBANE (DIRECTOR FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS)
Mr. Atabo David Ojogbane hails from Olowa in Dekina LGA of Kogi state.
He holds a Masters Degree in Money and Finance and Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics both from the prestigious University of Jos.
He is a Certified National Accountant and also a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Atabo has over Thirty (30) years of working experience in Accounting and Auditing functions in the Public Service. He started his Public Service Career in 6th November 1989 as Bursar (Accountant 1) with the Federal School of Art and Science Ogoja, Cross river state. (Under the Federal Ministry of Education) where he rose to the position of Senior Accountant in the same School of Art and Science, Ogoja C/river State.
From 1997-1999 he served as a Principal Accountant at the Federal Government Girls College, Abuloma Port Hacourt, Rivers State where he rose to the position of Assistant Chief Accountant (2000-2003)
Between 2004 and 2007, he served as Chief Accountant 1 at the Federal Government Girls College, Cross River state.
He served as an Assistant Director at the Ministry of Police Affairs (Police Pay Office Port Harcourt) between 2008 and 2012.
Mr. Atabo David was promoted to the position of Deputy Director and was immediately transferred to the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development (Nigeria Football Federation) where he served for 4 years before his promotion to Director of Finance and Accounts.
He served as a Director of Finance and Accounts at Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NHQ (Under Ministry of Interior), Abuja between 2017 and June 2020.
He is currently the serving Director of Finance and Accounts, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Mabushi.
Mr Atabo has attended several management courses and workshop both locally and internationally.
A distinguished alumnus of the University of Jos Alumni Association, he is a philanthropist who has received several commendations from both government institutions and non-Governmental bodies for his gestures.
Most recent is the award of excellence from Arewa Journalist Forum.
This is in recognition of his great contribution to Socio-economic Development, Good governance, Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria and Service to Humanity.
He is married with children. His hobbies include Swimming, travelling and philanthropic activities.
The functions of this department are as below:
i. Planning, coordinating and control of the financial activities of the Ministry which include payment of approved expenditure.
ii. Rendering statutory returns to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) which include statements and Revenue Returns.
iii. Collection and remittance of independent Federal Government Revenue.
iv. Responding to Audit queries from the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly.
v. Processing of cash backing of all warrant released by Federal Ministry of Finance.
vi. Preparation of the Ministry's Medium Term Sector Strategy (MTSS).
vii. Preparation of the Ministry's Annual Budget and
viii. Monitoring and Evaluation of all Projects for the Ministry
